I am Lokyra (say it with me: Low-keer-ah) or Lok (Lock) Stone.
I am the Goddess, Guru, and Geek of Muchness.
I am the owner, author, sherpa, enforcer, comedic relief, delivery girl, marketing advisor, accountant, and freeloader of Lokyra Stone's Stuff. The stuff is mainly writing. Pretty cool, huh?
I firmly believe in the spiritual supremacy of love, knowledge, and lunacy. And ice cream. And really good chocolate.
To wake the soul by tender strokes of art,/ To raise the genius, and to mend the heart." -Alexander Pope
I am a bisexual, polyamorous, happily married pagan. I am dedicated to the Morrighan, Loki, and Odin.
I try not to take anything too seriously, including myself. Or you.
Now to unleash screaming temporal doom!!
One of these has to be literary, right?

Gender Neutralizing: Porn This Way
Lyrics:
It doesn’t matter if you love hir, or capital H-I-R
Just turn that volume up
And watch queer porn, baby
Society told me when I was young
About various normative sexual scripts
I rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
And then tore those scripts to bits
There’s nothing wrong with wanting what you want
You know desire is a social construct
So when the lights are on, the cameras rolling
That’s when we all start getting fucked
It’s beautiful when you say
“Can I touch you there?” “Yes you may!”
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Don’t exoticize bodies of color
Respectfully eroticize one another
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
Let’s make some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
You’re not an object — you are the subject
You’re not an object — you are the subject
You’re not an object — you are the subject
You are!
Let every lick melt heteropatriarchy
Every bite - right into white supremacy
Porn that humanizes is so hot
You’ll want that shit on DVD
Having the sex you want is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-R
Your body is your own so you can say
What really, really turns you on
It’s beautiful when you say
“Can I touch you there?” “Yes you may!”
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Don’t exoticize bodies of color
Respectfully eroticize one another
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
Let’s make some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
You’re not an object - you are the subject
And your subjectivity is not a list
Of traits Lady Gaga considers “different”
Splotches of paint on her diversity palette
Erasing histories left and right
But we won’t go down without a fight
And we’ll go down after that fight
Cuz baby, we’re queering porn tonight
No matter queer or not
Consensual sex is hot
We’re on the right track to give
This one all that we’ve got
She says your identity was formed
All based on how you were born
Don’t need an excuse to be yourself
You’re great — now let’s make some porn
It’s beautiful when you say
“Can I touch you there?” “Yes you may!”
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Don’t exoticize bodies of color
Respectfully eroticize one another
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
Let’s make some hot queer porn today
Oh there are so many ways
To make queer porn worthy of praise
We’re on the right track to make
Some hot queer porn today
I like porn this way!
Queer porn this way!
We’re on the right track
Now let’s queer porn today
I like porn this way!
Queer porn this way!
We’re on the right track
Now let’s queer porn todaybetter by far.
Or, “The Warrior of Muchness Learns to Wax On and Wax Off”
Good evening, heroes. (And when I say heroes, I mean heroes of every gender. Deal with it.)
Today I want to introduce you to one of your greatest foes. This little mini-demon has many names. Laziness. Procrastination. I’ll-Do-It-Tomorrow-I-Don’t-Feel-Like-It-Right-Now. Rationalization. Excuses.
This devil can often be found lurking inside our heads, whispering of comfortable and cozy ruts, telling you all the reasons why it is better to eat junk food, watch tv, or play on the computer. The truly ambitious mini-demon has been known to entice fallen heroes into doing all three at once.
But utilizing self-discipline, even fallen heroes can win the day, earning back the title of “Utter Badass.” The truly determined hero (is there any other kind?) will not hesitate to meet this demon in battle, however many times it takes.
“Self-discipline is a form of freedom. Freedom from laziness and lethargy, freedom from the expectations and demands of others, freedom from weakness and fear and doubt. Self-discipline allows a pitcher to feel his individuality, his inner strength, his talent. He is master of, rather than a slave to, his thoughts and emotions.” -H.A. Dorfman, The Mental ABC’s of Pitching
Self-discipline is the rejection of instant gratification, in favour of something better. It is the power to act on ideas.
Self-discipline does not mean living without the pleasures in life. It is not about guilt or shame or religion. Self-discipline helps you weed out the excesses, rid yourself of the shallow escapisms. It lets you appreciate more fully the luxuries and joys in life.
So do not fear that embarking on a quest (for it is a quest, and you are the hero) for self-discipline will mean giving up the things you most enjoy.
It does not mean being narrow-minded or judgmental. It means seeking out and conquering those mental and emotional habits that waste our energy and distract us from the meaningful.
Self-discipline is not a trait. It is a skill. Self-discipline is part of the Hero Muscle.
The quest for self-discipline is not an easy one. It is fraught with danger and frustrations, and the very things that most of us will be attempting to overcome will ambush us frequently. Ingrained habits, learned laziness, overactive appetites and schizophrenic firings in the brain will conspire to bring our grand plans to a halt.
But we won’t let them. No. We are stronger than our little mini-demons. We will commit war against them until the voices that boom through our heads, deep and authoritative, become tiny and squeaky and absurd.
Temptations will become a delicious torture, something to revel in, a foreplay to the reward, rather than a second head growing out of your shoulder, whispering nasty, poisonous things in your ear.
Most people will do what is easiest. Which is why you should do the opposite. The superficial opportunities of life will be attacked by hordes of people seeking what is easy.
Be a warrior. Attack the tougher challenges. You will face less competition, more opportunity, and greater rewards. Plus, you’ll feel like a badass.
Your life will reach a whole new level when you stop avoiding and fearing challenges. Make challenges and hard work your ally. Let it be the wise sage that guides you on your quest.
“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “Press On” has solved and will always solve the problems of the human race.” -Calvin Coolidge
People tend to blame everything but themselves for their unhappiness. It is painful to admit that our lack of success is not due to any quirk of fate, but our own lack of responsiveness to the opportunities that were presented to us.
The undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites, and passions. And in the longer term, the undisciplined lack the freedom that comes with possessing particular skills and abilities, like playing a musical instrument, speaking a foreign language, being able to rollerblade when you’re fifty. You cannot wait for life to do things or accomplish things for you. You have to make the decisions, and you have to choose your path. The hero does not sit at home waiting for the bad guys to come find him. The hero rushes out the front door, raising her weapon of choice, and dares the bad guys to fight her.
Our lives are not controlled by the whims of fate. Yes, many things that affect our lives are beyond our control. But we decide how we react to these situations- we decide what we learn from each situation. And by our own actions, we can make things happen We are the heroes. We are the warriors. We are the badasses.
Many people associate discipline with punishment. Punishment is not the same as natural consequences. Natural consequences are the things that are directly caused by our actions. They are not some arbitrary punishment for doing something bad.
The wise warrior learns from observing the results of their actions, learning to develop the self-discipline needed to change their actions, and thus the results.
Because of the connection between discipline and punishment that most people have, self-discipline has become one of the most negative compound words out there. But much like Frankenstein, self-discipline is a misunderstood creature. Misaligned by the demons of laziness, Procrastination, and I-don’t-wanna.
Self-discipline needs a better P.R. agent.
You must accept your current level of self-discipline. Without acceptance, you get either ignorance or denial. Quest-killers. With ignorance, you simply don’t know how disciplined you are. You don’t know that you don’t know. You’ll only have a fuzzy notion of what you can and can’t do. You’ll experience some easy successes and some dismal failures, but you’re more likely to blame the task or blame yourself, instead of simply acknowledging the challenge was tougher than you thought, and that you need to become stronger.
When you’re in denial about your level of discipline, you’re locked into a false view of reality. You’re either overly pessimistic or overly optimistic about your capabilities. On the pessimistic side you’ll only take up easy quests and avoid the tough ones, the ones that you would actually rock at and that would make you stronger and better. On the optimistic side, you’ll keep trying to defeat opponents who are too strong, either failing or hurting yourself. So accept the current state of your self-discipline. Acknowledge it. Say hi. Play nice.
Moods, appetites, and passions can be powerful forces against you. Self-discipline depends on your courage when confronted by these foes.
